What is Neuromuscular Massage Therapy?

"Neuromuscular massage therapy is a specialized form of manual massage in which digital pressure and friction are used to release areas of strain in a muscle. Strain areas are called tender or trigger points, and they tend to be the cause of ongoing muscular pain symptoms. These trigger points are small areas of the muscle in which there is a contracture of tissue, and the lack of blood and nutrients in that area causes an inability for that muscle to relax. The area is hypersensitive and can cause pain, fatigue, and weakness in the muscle. Trigger points can lead to referral pain, which refers to a phenomenon in which areas far away from the trigger point experience sensations of pain, tingling or numbness."

Veterans Massage

In recent years the Veteran Administration has started recognizing the benefits of alternative care. This includes massage therapy. Given that we are a military family, we are passionate about our military, past and present, getting the best care. Both our massage therapists are approved by the VA to do massage on veterans. Like all things government, there is a process to get the referral in place. Call us for details. We will gladly assist you in getting signed up for these benefits.

Todd Seymour's exceptional journey is a testament to his unwavering commitment to fellow soldiers and veterans, all while cherishing the bonds with his own family.

It was during his tenure as a Drill Sergeant that Todd personally experienced the debilitating effects of chronic back pain. This personal struggle led him on a quest to find effective solutions, ultimately leading him to discover Foundation Training by Dr. Eric Goodman.

Motivated by his own experience with back pain and a profound sense of camaraderie, Todd embarked on a journey of discovery. He delved into the principles of Foundation Training, which focus on strengthening the core, improving posture, and creating space within the body. These principles not only relieved Todd's back pain but also opened up a new realm of possibilities for him.

With newfound knowledge and a deep passion for holistic wellness, Todd continued his educational journey. He pursued an Associates in Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) degree, driven by the desire to assist soldiers in their recovery and rehabilitation journeys.

To further refine his abilities, Todd ventured into massage therapy, specializing in Sports and Therapeutic Massage. This transformative journey allowed him to cater to a diverse clientele, including the athletes of Dartmouth College, where he played a vital role in enhancing their peak performance.

Todd became an instructor at the US Army Physical Fitness School. In this influential role, he not only taught the newly implemented Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) but also pioneered the creation of an online ACFT distance learning course, ensuring soldiers' training continued during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Continuing his mission to support soldiers, Todd transitioned to the Fort Stewart Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU), where he acted as a staunch advocate for soldiers recovering from various injuries.

Todd Seymour's diverse experiences, spanning military service, healthcare, sports, and therapeutic massage therapy, equip him with a profound understanding of soldiers' needs and challenges. His unwavering commitment to their welfare, underscored by his willingness to adapt to changing circumstances, positions him as a trusted ally in their pursuit of optimal health and balanced lives.

From his own experience with military duties, personal struggles, and working directly with soldiers, Todd Seymour emerges as a valuable member of the Get Tanked community and the Fort Stewart community. His empathetic approach, forged through years of dedicated service and enriched by the principles of Foundation Training, resonates deeply with those he assists, making him a trusted companion on their journey toward well-being. Whether you seek sports performance enhancement, therapeutic relief, or the benefits of Foundation Training principles, Todd's mastery of Sports and Therapeutic Massage is a testament to his dedication to your well-being and his genuine empathy for those he serves.

Brandy Wenger is a LMT, NMT.  She graduate the Neuromuscular Massage Therapy program in June of 2023. Brandy began working as a licensed massage therapist immediately after obtaining her licenses. She has been with Get Tanked for approximately two years, as a floater and a helper.  Brandy is a gold star spouse, a mother, and a grandmother. Brandy’s healing journey began with us just a few short months before she applied for college. As she was healing herself, she believed that massage therapy paired with float therapy could be a powerful combination to maximize healing for emotional, mental, and physical wellness. In the short time that we have been pairing the two therapies together, we have seen some truly outstanding results. Brandy has a healers heart and is able to draw out the root issues while she works to help heal your body.
