Neuromuscular Massage
Neuromuscular massage therapy involves applying alternating levels of concentrated pressure to the trigger point.
This is not the "Fluff and Buff" Swedish massage. This type of massage helps release areas of strain in a muscle called tender or trigger points, and they tend to be the cause of ongoing muscular pain symptoms. These trigger points are small areas of the muscle in which there is a contracture of tissue, and the lack of blood and nutrients in that area causes an inability for that muscle to relax.
That's the technical definition. These types of massage may cause bruising to some people in the short term. In the long term it brings healing to targeted areas.
Our massage therapists are well trained and continue to learn new techniques. Neuromuscular massage helps alleviate chronic muscle and nervous system disorders and problems. The veterans with chronic pain issues we serve, love floating then getting a massage. It helps them get through pain when nothing else touches it.
